Apple Posts Holiday Gift Guide

If you’re already planning out your holiday gifts, you may want to check out the Apple Store’s new online Holiday Gift Guide, which can be found in a special section on the Apple website.

The app provides Apple product suggestions like the iPad 2 and the Apple TV, plus third party products in a variety of categories, for family, artists, travelers, and fashionistas.

Many of Apple’s top third party family picks are toys, like Disney’s AppMATes, the screen-safe Cars 2 toys that drive on the iPad; the Disney Spotlight Karaoke, for singing hit songs and making videos with the iPad 2; and the Parrot AR.Drone, a quadricoptor with a transmitting camera.

In the artist section, you’ll find accessories like Bose headphones, Bose speakers, Wacom tablets, and portable hard drives, all chosen to inspire creativity.

The travel section is stocked with items like the iPod Nano as a fitness companion, the Mophie Juice Pack for extra battery charge, and an iDevice-compatible pulse monitor to measure heart rate when exercising.

Apple’s fashion category consists mainly of stylish iPad and iPhone accessories, for both men and women. The Kate Spade notebook carrying case and the Michael Kors horizontal tote are perfect for fashionable women, while the Kenneth Cole Messenger Bag and the Cole Haan leather briefcase are both suitable for men seeking style and function.

This list will likely be updated as we approach the holidays, because some big ticket Apple items are currently absent from the guide. Apple doesn’t appear to be recommending iPhones or any of its MacBook line, which is unusual.
